Common questions

My reminder didn't arrive.

Check three things: notifications are allowed for Small Start in your device settings; the routine has a scheduled time and its reminder toggle is on; and today is one of the routine's active weekdays. Reminders are delivered by your device, so they still work with no internet connection.

The same reminder keeps arriving at a time that never works.

After a few reminders go unanswered, the app offers to change the time or turn reminders off directly on the routine card. You can also open the routine and set a different time at any point.

The timer looks wrong after I locked my phone.

It shouldn't be — the timer is calculated from real clock time rather than counted while the app is open, so backgrounding, locking or taking a call does not shift it. If you do see a drift, please email us with what you did just before it happened.

How does the free trial work?

You get the complete app for 14 days. No card and no account are needed, so nothing can be charged automatically and there is nothing to cancel. When the trial ends you choose whether to buy.

I paid but the app still asks me to.

Tap Restore purchases on the pricing screen. If that doesn't work, make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you purchased with, then email us.

How do I cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by the store, not by us. On iOS: Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions. The Lifetime option is a one-time purchase and never renews, so there is nothing to cancel.

How do I delete my data?

Uninstalling the app deletes your routines, history and streaks permanently. They exist only on your device — we hold no copy, which also means we cannot restore them for you.

Can I move my routines to a new phone?

Not yet. Because nothing is stored on a server, routines do not sync between devices. Your purchase does transfer — use Restore purchases.

Is this a medical app?

No. Small Start is a timer and a routine keeper. It does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not a substitute for professional advice.
