Open the app, tap a mood, and type one sentence. That's the whole thing. There's no save button — your line is saved as you type. If you want, add a tag or two with one tap; tags are what "what lifts you" later has to hold on to.
Yes. On the Today screen, scroll to Your year and tap any square in the grid. You can read, edit, or add an entry for that day.
No. Entries save themselves a moment after you stop typing, so force quitting, running out of battery, or dropping your phone won't cost you anything.
Settings → Export my journal. You get CSV files — one for your days, one for the letters Lumi wrote you — which you can send to yourself or open in any spreadsheet app. On the new phone, use Import in the same place to read them back in, so you don't start from an empty year. It's your data — take it whenever you want.
Once you have a few weeks written down, Lumi counts them: it reads back your own words and tags and shows which ones turn up on your better days, and which turn up on your worse ones — with the number of days behind each, so you can weigh it yourself. It needs about 20 logged days before it says anything, because below that a "pattern" is just a coincidence. All of the counting happens on your phone.
Log at least 3 days in a week. Once that week is over, open the sparkle icon and tap Reflect on this week. That week's entries are read once to write you a short letter, which is then saved on your device. There are longer ones at the end of every month and every year, and each new letter knows what Lumi already wrote you, so week twelve doesn't read like week one. Your first reflection is free.
Type a plain question — "what did my best weeks have in common?" — and Lumi answers using only your own entries, reading back up to your last 366 logged days. The answer is saved with the question so you can read it again, and you can delete either at any time. Your first question is free.
Yes, and it's free. Settings → App lock puts Lumi behind Face ID, Touch ID or your phone's passcode. Your phone does the check; the app is only told whether it worked.
At the end of a year, Lumi can turn it into a small PDF booklet — every day in order, with the letters it wrote you. Yours to keep or to print. It's part of the subscription.
The journal itself is free forever and never expires: unlimited entries, the full year grid, search, your insights, reminders, the widget, export and import, and the app lock.
Lumi Pro pays for the parts that read your days back to you — what lifts you, asking your journal, the letters beyond the first one, and the year booklet. Those run on servers that cost us money every single time somebody uses them, which is the honest reason they aren't free.
Open the subscription screen and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID or Google account you bought with. If it still doesn't work, email us and we'll sort it out.
iPhone/iPad: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions →
Lumi Journal → Cancel.
Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments &
subscriptions → Subscriptions → Lumi Journal → Cancel.
Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Your journal stays yours either way.
Check that notifications are allowed for Lumi Journal in your phone's system settings, and that the reminder is switched on in the app's Settings. On some Android phones, battery optimisation can delay notifications — a quick search for your phone model plus "background app restrictions" usually turns up the setting.
No. Your journal is stored on your device, and so is the counting behind "what lifts you". Entries leave only when you personally ask for something that needs them: a reflection sends that period's entries, and a question sends up to your last 366 logged days. Either way they're read once to write the answer and are never stored on our servers.
Separately, the app can send Google Firebase Analytics which screens you open and how long a session lasts — we ask you first, it stays off unless you say yes, and you can turn it back off in Settings. What you write is never part of it. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
Inside the app you can delete a single day, or a single question and its answer. Deleting the app removes all of your entries from your device. If you'd like a copy first, export to CSV from Settings before you delete.
