Frequently asked

How is my quarterly number calculated?

By default the app uses the IRS safe harbor rule: if you pay 100% of last year's total tax spread across the four payments, the IRS will not charge an underpayment penalty — even if you earn more this year. If last year's AGI was above $150,000 ($75,000 married filing separately), the rule requires 110% instead and the app applies that automatically. If you don't know last year's tax, the app can project from the income you log instead. Tap the number to see every line of the calculation.

Is this tax advice?

No. The app produces an estimate to help you set money aside and pay on time. It is not tax advice and not a filing tool. For your specific situation, talk to a tax professional.

Does it file my taxes?

No. We estimate what to set aside and remind you before each deadline. Your accountant or filing software handles the actual return.

Where is my data?

Only on your device. There is no account and no server. Deleting the app deletes the data, so export a CSV if you want a copy — export is free, because an app with no backup must never charge you to get your own records out.

What is free and what is Premium?

The quarterly number, every deadline (including your state's own dates when they differ from the IRS), all reminders, the income log and CSV import and export are free forever — no trial and no card. Premium folds your state tax into the quarterly figure and adds tracking income by client.

Why isn't my state covered?

A state is only enabled once its rules — due dates, instalment split and payment threshold — have been checked against that state's own tax authority. Every income-tax state except Connecticut is covered today. Where a state is not covered, no state amount is calculated and you are not charged for it; the federal figure is unaffected and stays free.

Idaho and Utah do not ask individuals for quarterly estimated payments at all, so the app tells you that rather than inventing deadlines.

How do I cancel a subscription?

On iPhone: Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → Payments and subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals and the current period stays active until it ends. Lifetime is a one-time purchase with nothing to cancel.

I bought Premium but it isn't showing.

Open the Premium screen and tap "Restore purchases". If it still doesn't appear, email us with the store receipt.

Which year's numbers does the app use?

2026 tax brackets, standard deductions and the Social Security wage base ($184,500), checked against irs.gov (Rev. Proc. 2025-32) and the ssa.gov 2026 COLA fact sheet. Deadlines come from the published Form 1040-ES dates rather than being computed. These are updated every December.

I think a number is wrong.

Please tell us — this is the report we most want to receive. Include the figures from the breakdown screen (tap the main number) and what you expected instead. Do not send us your tax documents; we don't need them and we don't want to hold them.
